Rev Roy Durman echoed this phrase all 3 nights to welcome more than 1 thousand people who came for the healing rally.

Rev Durman, on the first night, prayed for those who have hernia. Breast lumps and other growths disappeared or subsided as testified by those prayed for. The next night, the deaf started hearing and the dumb could give utterances! Then those on wheelchairs were asked to stand up and walk. Rev Durman even sat on some of their wheelchairs and got them to push him around the stage instead! On Sunday, he prayed for cancer patients. He also summoned those with eye conditions such as glaucoma, detached retina and cataracts to come forward for prayer. One particular lady testified that she could see clearly thereafter. A panel of volunteer doctors verified the condition of those healed and they were encouraged to go for further medical check-ups.

We learnt a few amazing lessons. First, it is Jesus alone who heals, not the person praying. Although the healings of those called to the stage were obviously more visible, many who were not called on stage were also healed.

Second, we saw how Rev Durman only prayed specifically for those with certain conditions according to what he felt led to do by the Spirit. There’s power in obedience and we saw many healings. One non-believer remarked “Your Jesus is very powerful!”

Third, it was a privilege to witness the healings and we learned to thank and trust God continually even when the healings aren’t immediate.

Finally and very importantly, the ministry of healing is not bigger than Jesus’ call to save the lost. Rev Durman directed people to the Healer Himself, and many accepted that Jesus is the only means to have eternal life.

This rally was the combined effort of a few churches which saw 300+ people serving as ushers, altar workers, clean up crew and not forgetting the prayer warriors who ‘soaked’ the event with prayers of great expectations. Our very own Ps Hock Huat was directing traffic at the car park – he was so good there was no traffic jam!

The cheerful Rev. Durman is an 82-year-old with the spirit of a 45-year-old and he said, “It takes ALL of us to get all of God” urging us to seek Him with all our hearts, soul and mind. While the rally is but only one event, the significance of it is that many churches came together to pray and look to God for miracles.
We pray this rally which also coincided with our 40-day prayer and fasting for our country to be a part of Malaysia’s spiritual revival where God ultimately heals our land.
