The last 2 months have been shrouded with many bad news – Cyclone Nargis, Wenchuan Earthquake and we in Malaysia, have not been spared as well. The recent fuel hike has surely jolted us from our bliss and false sense of security. For most of us, this could be the first time we really identify with the sufferings of others who have lost much more.
But God has a purpose for EVERYTHING! This is THE time for the church, for us, to be a blessing to the poor. God is our provider. He has not and will not ask us to be a blessing to the nations without providing for it.
Let us not forget Proverbs 14:21b…he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.
